Undermounting Kitchen sinks are traditionally surface mounted or dropped in. That is, the rim of the sink sits on top of the counter top. With solid surface counter tops such as stone and granite, undermounting the sink has become very popular. The sink is mounted to the underside of the counter top. Undermounting gives you a cleaner look and prevents dirt from becoming trapped around or below the rim. BLANCO offers many single and double bowl undermount sinks to accommodate both your needs and design tastes. Most BLANCO drop-in models can also be undermounted by using special undermount clips.
Integrated drain boards. Drain boards extend your work area and allow easy clean up as well as food preparation. Whether you're preparing fresh vegetables, drying a single cup or all the dishes after a family meal, the drain board will keep the counter top clean and dry and water where it should be - in the sink. Integrated drain boards drain water directly into the sink or into a separate strainer.
Sink bowl size. Sink bowls come in many shapes and sizes. Look for designs that give you a combination of function and aesthetics. Tight radius corners give you more usable bowl capacity. A flat sink bottom allows glassware and goblets to "stand up" preventing accidental breakage. Trapezoid shaped bowls allow lots of room for bulky items. Many new designs allow large pots and even frying pans to sit flat in the sink, making cleanup easier.
Prep bowls. Prep bowls with a custom fit colander increase the function of the sink. They can be used for rinsing, draining, straining and clean up. Regardless of sink space, a colander bowl will give you an additional functioning bowl and increase the area for food preparation and cleanup.
Mechanical pop-up strainer. A convenient button located on the sink deck allows you to drain your sink bowl without having to place your hands in dirty water Drain Holes. Drain holes are positioned near the rear of bowls to maximize work area in the sink and storage room below.
Sink rim. From every angle, the rim of drop-in sinks demonstrates superior design. The outside edge is slanted to prevent dirt from becoming trapped. The inside edge features a deep profile to eliminate spillovers and the underside is lined with a rim seal to protect the counter from possible water damage.
